Cervical Cancer & Family Health Campaign

Today, I joined Cervical Cancer & Family Health Campaign at UTAR (Petaling Jaya), which provides free medical consultation, free health screening and also, subsidized HPV vaccine. This campaign is mainly to create awareness of how dangerous of this cancer to us, women. Women are advised to get vaccinated especially when they are young and ideally, before they are sexually active. For more information about cervical cancer, you can click here :)

I have just taken the vaccination of Cervical Cancer/HPV infection prevention today :D. At a subsidized price, the total price is rm600 only for 3 doses (rm240 for first dose, rm180 for 2nd and 3rd dose). It includes the prevention for four types of virus: HPV 6, 11, 16 and 18 (Gardasil). Other healthcare providers that offer cheaper price for this vaccination may only includes two types virus prevention only - Cervarix. So, this campaign is kinda offering buy 2 'preventions' free 2 'preventions' promotion :p

My upper arm a bit pain and swollen :( after the injection compare to other injections that I have taken before (my last injections were during Std 6 and Form 3). I saw another girl nausea after her injection. Thus, make sure you eat something before taking the vaccination but not too heavy meal. Hehe.. they provide some freebies too: An empty ring file, a packet of tissue, a pen, an A5 note book - all with the cervical cancer awareness attached!!! Oh ya! I also got a voucher from Clinipath Pathology, 50 Tests at RM40 (Normal price: rm80). Anybody who want this voucher, you can leave me a message in this post :)

A packet of tissue and a pen
Ring file, Paperbag, Notebook, Pamphlet and my Vaccination card
    (clockwise from top left)
    the health screening voucher

What do you need to think more? You can take action to prevent cervical cancer now.

Prevention is better than cure, right?

You can for more pictures and info on that event :)

New Japanese Game with Face Tracking Technology

Ever wanna peek a gal's mini skirt?

Now, you can realize your dream with this new technology using webcam on a PC game, Tech48 by Teatime.

They combined face-tracking technology, which detects PC users location in front of webcam, with fictional characters in the, ahem, adult anime game ="> When you move from left to right side of desk, a girl in the game will follow you to give her eyes back on you.

For example, when you let the cam recognize you are crouching, the game shows inside of the girl’s skirt.

SKIN FOOD Rice Yogurt Mask Wash Off

After reading so many good review from the Internet, I have decided to give Rice Yogurt Mask Wash Off a try!! I bought this product from MidValley (same like I bought my first SKIN FOOD mask :p) but this time, she is not helpful and friendly at all :( I am a bit dissapointed about that.

Product Name: SKIN FOOD Rice Yogurt Mask Wash Off

Description: A wash-off mask containing rice extract that moisturizes skin and brightens tone. With its texture of ground rice, it leaves skin bright, soft and lustrous.

    Content: 100ml

    Price: RM44 per jar

Instruction: After washing, apply desired amount onto face, focusing on nose area while avoiding eye and mouth areas. Wait 10 to 15 minutes, and then wash off with warm water.

    My comment:
This rice wash off mask has a powdery smell too just like the Kiwi Wash Off Mask. The rice mask contains some small rice beads so I will use this mask as face scrub sometimes ^^ If I wan to use as face scrub, I will make sure my face is cleaned first. After using the mask, I can see that my face is fairer instantly. I will say that the whitening effect is greater than the Kiwi Wash Off Mask. Besides, I can feel that my face is moisture (just like any normal mask). And, this mask helps a bit in oil controlling.

Will I purchase this again? Most probably No. I feel that it is a bit pricey for a face whitenening mask.

    My Rating:

Review: SKIN FOOD Kiwi Yogurt Mask Wash Off

Kiwi Yogurt Mask Wash Off is my first product that I bought from SKIN FOOD (MidValley). The sales assistant recommended this wash off mask as I am looking for mask that can help to tighten up my pores and I have oily skin. She is very friendly and helpful ^^

Product Name: SKIN FOOD Kiwi Yogurt Mask Wash Off

Description: Containing kiwi rich in vitamins, this moisturizing yogurt mask pack controls oiliness and minimizes pores, gently removing dead skin.

    Content: 100ml

    Price: RM28

Instruction: Apply evenly after cleansing. Avoid the eye and mouth area. Wash off with lukewarm water after 10 - 15 minutes.

    My comment:
This yogurt kiwi wash off mask doesn’t smell like kiwi at all. It smells more like powdery yogurt flavour. I can easily spread it on my face with the watery texture. The mask has some small mini greenish beads which you have to break it gently and applied all over your face. After around 15 minutes, wash it off and I noticed that my face is fairer. Besides, I can say that this mask is very good for oil controlling and moisture my skin at the same time.
I have finished using 100ml of this mask but I don’t see a great improvement at minimizing pores :(

Will I buy this again? Maybe, Yes. I will try other range of the wash off mask also. E.g. Rice, Black Sesame Wash Off Mask :)
    My Rating:

    All in a Day's Work

Fall in love with what you are going to do for a living.

To be able to get out of bed and do what you love to do for the rest of your day is beyond words.

I'd rather be a failure in something that I love rather than be successful in something that I hate!

A new trend: No Plastic Bag Day!

Recently, the Penang government has declared every Monday as a "No Plastic Bag Day" for the state beginning July 1. Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the ban by the state government on using plastic bags marked its serious commitment to achieving its goal of becoming a green state. He said that to encourage consumers to bring their own bags and reduce their dependency on the plastic bags, consumers would be charged 20 cents per bag on the "No Plastic Bag Day".

In Hong Kong, Every Day No Plastic Bag Day campaign has launched on March 3. Shoppers are asked to donate 50 Hong Kong cents (about 6 U.S. cents) for every plastic bag if they insist on using it. Participating stores include the city's three major supermarket chains Welcome, ParknShop and China Resources Vanguard, and pharmacy chains Watsons and Mannings.

In fact, a lot other organizations have launched similar campaign to save the Earth. E.g. USM.

    New Garden in Pet Society

Pet Society have new update! We can have our very own garden from planting, watering and watching the plant grow everyday!

First, you should find that you already have one garden, and if you’ve been playing for at least a few days you should have two. You’ll notice two little extra cells in your map which you can click on to find them. Go see!

There is also a new shopkeeper, Mrs. Appleblossom. She’s a very kind old lady and an excellent gardener. You’ll be able to buy seeds from Mrs. Appleblossom and that’s where things get really interesting.

You’ll notice that you have mounds of earth in your garden. These are seed beds where you can plant flower, tree and vegetable seeds. Seeds are a little like Mystery Boxes — you buy a flower, tree or vegetable seed, but you have no idea what will grow out of it. You may even find they grow into rare Mysterious Plants!

Here’s how all the seeds work:

    Flower seeds

Flower seeds take about 24 hours to grow into all kinds of colorful flowers. These can be pulled up from the ground and used to decorate your house (they look great in a vase), given to your friends as a exclusive gift which they won’t find in the shops, or just sold to earn you some coins.

    Tree seeds

Tree seeds take 72 hours to grow. Once a tree is fully grown it will start to bear fruit, so it’s worth checking back daily to see what it’s produced. You can give fruit to your pet, send it as a gift to your friends, or sell it on for a steady coin income. The fruit which the tree bears depends on what type of tree it is. You could even create an orchard in your garden!

    Vegetable seeds

Vegetables grow larger and larger the longer you leave them in the ground, although after 9 days the vegetable won’t grow any more. The larger a vegetable is the more valuable it is, but leaving them to grow for too long can be risky because the longer you wait the greater the chance you might find the vegetable has rotted away by the time you pull it up! If you can create a steady flow of large vegetables you may be able to turn a tidy profit, or perhaps you’d just like to share lots of vegetables with your friends? Perhaps you could arrange a competition to see who can grow the largest vegetable? It’s really up to you!

    Happy Growing your new plants!

Cervical Cancer & Family Health Campaign

Posted by nikiki at 11:01 PM 1 comments

      Cervical Cancer

Posted by nikiki at 9:37 PM 0 comments
      Facts
      • Cervical cancer is the 2nd most common cancer among women.
      • At least 50% of people who are sexually active will get genital HPV.
      What is Cervical cancer?
Cervical cancer is abnormal cell growth in the cervix. It is caused by a common virus called Human Papillomavirus (HPV).

      Who get cervical cancer?
      a. Women who have been infected by certain types of HPV and unable to clear the virus.
      b. About half of all females diagnosed with cervical cancer are between 35 and 55 years old.
      c. Most of the women who get cervical cancer may have never had a Pap test.

How do I know if I have HPV?
      Detect with regular Pap test.

      What is Pap test?
A test that looks for cell changes caused by genital HPV. This test can find cancer in its early stages so it can be treated before it becomes life threatening.

      How is HPV treated?
Currently, there is no proven treatment for HPV. However, vaccination is available to prevent the HPV infection and may reduce the risk of cervical cancer. Ideally, females should get the vaccine before they are sexually active.

      More information about HPV vaccine

      1. How many doses of HPV vaccine do I need to receive?
      3 doses.

First dose: a date chosen by you or healthcare provider
Second dose: 2 months after the first dose
Third dose: 6 months after the first dose

      2. What should I do if I miss a dose?
You should administer the missed dose at your earliest convenience. Your doctor will decide when to give the missed dose.

      3. Will vaccination eliminate the need for Pap testing?
This vaccine does not fully protect you so you should continue to have your regular Pap tests.

      4. What are the possible side effects of the vaccine?
      Common reported side effects,
injection-site reactions: pain, swelling, itching, redness
      generalized reactions: fever

If you have unusual or severe symptoms, contact your doctor immediately.

      5. Who should not receive the vaccine?
      Anyone who:
      - is allergic to any of the ingredients in the vaccine
      - has an allergic reaction after receiving a dose of the vaccine
      - is pregnant

      6. What should I do if I conceived after the first dose of vaccination?
Women who become pregnant before completion of the 3-dose schedule should complete their vaccination schedule after childbirth.

For further information, please consult your doctor or healthcare provider :)

New Japanese Game with Face Tracking Technology

Posted by nikiki at 1:21 AM 2 comments

Ever wanna peek a gal's mini skirt?

Now, you can realize your dream with this new technology using webcam on a PC game, Tech48 by Teatime.

They combined face-tracking technology, which detects PC users location in front of webcam, with fictional characters in the, ahem, adult anime game ="> When you move from left to right side of desk, a girl in the game will follow you to give her eyes back on you.

For example, when you let the cam recognize you are crouching, the game shows inside of the girl’s skirt.

You can watch the demo from youtube:

SKIN FOOD Rice Yogurt Mask Wash Off

Posted by nikiki at 9:48 PM 0 comments

Review: SKIN FOOD Kiwi Yogurt Mask Wash Off

Posted by nikiki at 8:23 PM 2 comments

A new trend: No Plastic Bag Day!

Posted by nikiki at 6:23 PM 0 comments

Posted by nikiki at 11:52 PM 0 comments
